Ex-Nigerian Minister, Mahmud Tukur, Is Dead
A former minister of commerce and industry, Mahmud Tukur, is dead.
According to reports, he died Friday in Abuja.
Tukur served as minister during the military government of Muhammadu Buhari. He is believed to have remained close to President Buhari.
He was also the first vice-chancellor of the Bayero University, Kano. As a businessman, Tukur sat on the boards of many organisations and businesses.
His death was confirmed by close family members, who disclosed that he was rushed to a hospital in Abuja from his base in Kaduna on Thursday night, but did make it.
The family member added that Tukur will be buried in Yola, Adamawa State.
