Renowned Nigerian philanthropist, Dr. Pearl Chidinma Ogbulu, popular by her chieftaincy title, Erelu Okin, has received special acknowledgment and a certificate of citizenship from the Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, for her humanitarian efforts in Nigeria, during a recent visit to the former.
In a letter dated Wednesday, November 30, addressed to Dr. Pearl Chidinma Ogbulu, and signed by the Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, Ras J. Baraka, Erelu Okin was acknowledged as one of Nigeria’s great humanitarians, supporting education projects for children, assisting widows, orphans and differently-abled persons.
The letter further reads in part, “…You are truly a leader, role model, and exemplary for your nation and the entire African Diaspora, and we are privileged to welcome you to Newark and honor you today…”
