#EndSARS: Piers Morgan Reacts To Police Brutality In Nigeria
English broadcaster and television personality, Piers Morgan has joined Nigerians in calling for an end to police brutality by the Special police unit, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
With the international media starting to pay attention to the protests which have now lasted three days, Morgan, 55, on Saturday described a video showing police brutality by Amnesty International as “appalling” and called for an end to the unit.
“This is appalling. The disgusting police brutality in Nigeria must stop. #ENDSARS,” he tweeted.
Protests by mainly young people have been held in Lagos, Abuja, Delta and Oyo since the beginning of the week to seek the disbandment of the unit.
A report by the BBC said #EndSARS became number one on Twitter trends worldwide this week.
