President Muhammadu Buhari has named Edward Lametek Adamu as the new chairman of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).
Adamu replaces Muiz Banire as the head of AMCON.
In a letter to the Nigerian Senate on Tuesday, Buhari named Edward Adamu as the new chairman of the country’s bad debt management office.
He asked the Senate to confirm Mr. Adamu’s nomination. However, no reason was given for Banire’s removal.
Banire was appointed the chairman of AMCON in December 2018.
The development comes a day after the president replaced Tunde Fowler as the head of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
