Glamtush reports that the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) has announced the retirement of its long-running primetime news broadcast, EBS Comprehensive News, marking the end of an era in regional journalism. The final edition of the programme will air on May 4, at 8 PM.

According to the statement, in its place, EBS will debut a dynamic new show titled EBS Tonight, set to launch on May 5. The station says the new programme is designed to “elevate coverage to new heights” and offer viewers a more immersive, engaging news experience.
EBS Tonight will initially run as a one-hour show, with future plans to expand into a two-hour, uninterrupted news talk format, the statement adds.

After decades of dedicated service, we believe it is time to retire EBS Comprehensive News and embrace this innovative format with EBS Tonight.
