DG Of WHO Slams French Doctors For Suggesting Africa As Testing Ground For Coronavirus Vaccine
The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has slammed recent comments made by French scientists suggesting that a new vaccine for coronavirus be tested in Africa.
According to the WHO chief, such comments is regarded as “racist” and a hangover from the “colonial mentality.”
“Africa cannot and will not be a testing ground for any vaccine,” Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a virtual news conference, insisting “we will follow all the rules to test any vaccine or therapeutics all over the world… whether it is in Europe, Africa or wherever.”
