COVID-19: 150 Persons Arrested For Violating Interstates Travel Restrictions During Curfew Hours, 10 Luxurious Buses Impounded

 

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command on enforcement of ban on interstates non-essential travel during the curfew hours has intercepted 10 luxurious buses with 150 passengers travelling out of Lagos State to various destinations in the Northern and Eastern regions of the country.

According to the Lagos State PPRO, SP Bala Elkana, the drivers and passengers were arrested, while the buses were impounded while the violators were arraigned in Lagos State Special Offences (Mobile) Court.

The Commissioner of Police Lagos State Command, CP Hakeem Odumosu psc warned passengers, commercial vehicle operators and motor parks against violating interstates movement restriction orders during the curfew hours.

The arrest took place on July 18 at about 11:00 pm.
