A corps member has given birth at the Bayelsa Orientation Camp
Glamtush reports that a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) identified as Yanusa Ranatu has given birth to a baby boy in Bayelsa State.
Ranatu, with call-up number BY/21B/1675, had just concluded her registration on Thursday at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Kaiama, headquarters of the Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, when she went into labour.
She was rushed to the state referral hospital in Kaiama, where she was delivered of her baby, a boy, by another corps member, Dr. Clara Mbanusi, who was on duty.
The State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Ojugo Iyowuna, later led a delegation of camp officials to visit the child and Ranatu, who hails from Kwara State.
Iyowuna presented items to support both mother and child who were certified to be in good health.
The corps member thanked the NYSC for the intervention, saying the scheme “is truly a caring institution.”
