SDNON has felicitated with Christians on the Christmas Day celebration.
The Society of Digital Newspaper Owners of Nigeria (SDNON) has called on all Nigerians especially Christians to continue praying for the unity of Nigeria, even as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
The National President, Otunba Femi Davies made the call in a statement signed on Saturday in Lagos. He went further to emphasize the need for Christians to also understand why and what they are celebrating.
In his words, “On behalf of the National Executive of SDNON and its Board of Trustees, I want to felicitate with our Christian brothers and sisters as they mark this year’s remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ, this is a special moment for us as a nation.
“Christmas Day Celebration is not just about eating, drinking, and merry, it is time for sober reflection. We must understand what Jesus himself wants us to do at this time of celebration, a lot of lessons, and a good time to offer prayers for our country, Nigeria.”
“It is important for us to also understand the need for peaceful coexistence with other faithfuls for societal growth and national development. This is a time to set religion and ethnicity aside, show love to the needy, beginning with our neighbours.”
“For us at SDNON, we will continue to play a fundamental role in the development of our dear nation by supporting policies by individuals, cooperate organizations, and government, such that would enable the country to maximize its opportunities. Finally, I want to also use this opportunity to felicitate with all our armed forces, especially those at the front line, we are proud of you, thank you for safeguarding the nation. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance.”
