Celebrating Christian Movie Icon, Mike Bamiloye At 60

Today, April 13, is the 60th birthday of one of Nigeria’s most respected evangelist, actor, and president of Mount Zion Drama Ministry and Mount Zion Television.

The filmmaker who founded Mount Zion on August 5, 1985, has touched many lives across the globe through his numerous inspiring and educative Christian movies. His debut drama, titled ‘Hell in Conference’ was staged at the National Christian Teachers Conference at Ilesa, Osun State in 1986 with many in attendance.

When you talk of Christian movies in Nigeria, the most resounding name you hear is that of Mike Bamiloye. He may not have shot the first Christian movie, however, his contributions made the genre popular and gained acceptance across the country. Today, his films are subtitled in various languages and sold across the world.

Mike Bamiloye was born at Ilesa, a town in Osun State on April 13, 1960. He was trained at Divisional Teachers’ Training College at Ipetumodu where he began his career.

They are blessed with three children Damilola, Joshua and Darasimi Mike-Bamiloye. Damilola and Joshua have passionately followed in their footsteps of their parent in acting, scriptwriting, and movie production.

Mike uses his social media pages, especially is Instagram to preach Christ, drop motivational quotes, encourage people as well as talk about his life in order to motivate people as well as touch lives in his own special way.

So today being his 60th birthday, his sons took to social media to celebrate their father who they describe as their pillar.
