CDHR Condemns Plateau killings

The Committee For the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) Kwara State Chapter condemns the barbaric and senseless killing of innocent travellers along Rukuba town, Jos in Plateau state.

About 22 people were reportedly killed after an attack on a convoy of 90 Muslims along Rukuba road in the outskirts of Jos.

The Kwara Branch said in a statement, jointly signed by its chairman and secretary, Comrades Afolabi Lukman and Idris Afees, that it uses this medium to sympathise with the bereaved families and mourns the departed souls. The organization prays to God to grant their reposed souls eternal rest and give the families fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The Committee for Defence branch, in the same vein, appeals to the federal government and plateau state government to bring the culprits to book and intensify efforts on security of the north-central Jos-Plateau to forestall future occurrence.

They called for collaborative efforts to put an end to all forms of terrorism, banditry and kidnapping for ransoms in the country.
