President of Confederation of African Football (CAF), Ahmad Ahmad, has been arrested in Paris, France.
He was arrested on Thursday morning at a hotel in Paris, where he was staying ahead of the FIFA congress.
Jeune Afrique made the announcement and specified that Ahmad will be heard by the services of the Central Office of the fight against corruption and financial and fiscal offenses (Oclif).
The arrest is reportedly linked to the contract unilaterally broken by CAF with Puma, the German equipment manufacturer, to engage with the company technical steel, based in La Seyne-sur-Mer, France.
He had defended himself last April and gave the assurance that all decisions were transparent.
Following his arrest, Amaju Pinnick, the vice-president, will assume his duties for a transitional period of four months before convening an elective special assembly.
