Glamtush reports that Nigerian Musician, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burnaboy has won the award for Best International Act at the 2023 edition of Black Entertainment Awards (BET).
This online platform understands that the ‘African Giant’ crooner beat the likes of Ayra Starr, Central Cee and Stormzy, among others to clinch the most coveted category of BET awards.
Though Burna Boy was at the show when he was announced as the winner, his mother, Bose Ogulu, received the award on his behalf. This is the fourth time Burnay Boy is winning BET Best International Act.
His 2022 album ‘Love, Damini’ was a worldwide success, and he already took home a BET Award in the same category in 2019 and 2021.
Other nominees in the category included Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Central Cee, Ella Mai, K.O, L7nnon, Stormzy, Tiakola and Uncle Waffles.
On Sunday night, the 2023 edition of the Black Entertainment Awards was held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.
