Buhari Receives Report Of Judicial Panel Investigating Suspended EFCC’s Magu
President Muhammadu Buhari, has received reports of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry probing Ibrahim Magu, the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after over three months.
The panel, headed by a retired justice and president of the appeal court, Ayo Salami, on Friday presented the reports contained in four boxes at the council chambers of the presidential villa.
This was disclosed in a tweet by the Presidency.
The tweet reads: “NOW: President @MBuhari receiving the report of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry on the Investigation of Mr. Ibrahim Magu, the Acting Chairman, @officialEFCC. Justice Ayo Salami, Chair of the Judicial Commission, presenting the Report. #AsoVillaToday.”
President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated the panel in July and was given 45 days to carry out the assignment but the time frame was extended further after the panel requested for more time.
It was mandated to probe allegations of corruption and abuse of office leveled against Magu by the Attorney General and Minister Justice, Abubakar Malami.
