Buhari Formally Presents APC Flag To Governor Matawalle Of Zamfara

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday formally presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag to Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle as the new leader of the party in the state.

A statement signed by the Director-General, press Affairs, Gusau Government House, Hon. Yusuf Idris Gusau and made available to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital, the president expressed satisfaction over the new development.

Governor Matawalle, who defected to the ruling APC from the PDP on June 29, was led to the president alongside his Cross River state counterpart, Ben Ayade by the Chairman of APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe state governor, Hon. Mai-Mala Buni.

“The president expressed happiness in the new development where state governors and their large supporters are now realizing the focused leadership of his administration and joining the APC in order to change the narratives of the nation for the better.”

The statement noted that the governor was accompanied to the Presidential Villa by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya.

“Matawalle has since fully joined the APC along with all members of Zamfara State House of Assembly, all three senators from the state and six out of the seven members of House of Representatives from the state.”
