Bowine International School Honoured as Second Best School in Lagos State at PTSEA 2025

Bowine International School has been honoured as the second best school in Lagos State at the PTSEA 2025.

Glamtush reports that Bowine International School has once again demonstrated its legacy of excellence, earning a prestigious award at the Presidential Teachers and Schools Excellence Award (PTSEA) 2025, organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Education. The recognition reinforces Bowine’s position as one of the state’s foremost educational institutions, committed to quality teaching and holistic child development.

Having previously excelled at regional events within Eti-Osa—covering Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Lekki, and Ajah—the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) identified Bowine International School as an outstanding institution in teaching quality, learning outcomes, and overall academic standards. The school continues to distinguish itself as a beacon of educational excellence across Lagos State.

The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education also commended Bowine for its significant contributions to educational advancement and digital literacy. The school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded pupils reflects its enduring partnership with the state in driving educational innovation.

The award ceremony, held in Lagos, was graced by dignitaries including the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Ali-Balogun; the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Bisola Dosunmu-Adegbite; the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Akinloye Hassan; and the Coordinating Director of the OEQA.

In his address, Commissioner Ali-Balogun highlighted that the theme—“Promoting Digital Literacy and Education”—aligns perfectly with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s education and technology agenda. He emphasised: “Teachers must equip themselves with digital literacy before they can impart it effectively to students. AI and ICT are now essential in the classroom, and as Lagos grows, technology will play a central role in improving access to quality education.”

Responding to the honour, Mrs. Juliet Ugwu, Head of School at Bowine International School, expressed her excitement and gratitude: “This recognition means a lot. It reflects teamwork, dedication, and the shared effort of our staff. It motivates us to keep raising the bar in providing quality education.”

She also noted Bowine’s achievements beyond academics, with pupils excelling in Robotics, Chess, and Taekwondo competitions. “Our goal is to extend our success beyond Lagos and compete nationally. There’s nothing stopping Bowine from becoming the best school in Nigeria,” Mrs. Ugwu said.

Supporting her remarks, the Proprietress, Mrs. Ebele Biose, praised the collective hard work behind the achievement: “We’re honoured to be recognised as the Second Best Approved Private Primary School in Lagos State. This award reflects our commitment to excellence and to ensuring no child is left behind.”

The PTSEA Awards celebrate schools that demonstrate exceptional performance and innovation in education. Bowine International School’s latest accolade not only honours its past achievements but also reaffirms its mission to inspire, educate, and lead with excellence.
