Bishop Oyedepo’s Dominion Hangar At Lagos Airport To Be Demolished – FG

Bishop Oyedepo’s Dominion Hangar at Lagos Airport is to be demolished, says FG.

Glamtush reports that Hadi Sirika, the minister of aviation said over the weekend announced that two hangers will be demolished at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja to make room for the enlargement of the terminal apron.

This online platform understands that Dominion Hangar, owned by Bishop Oyedepo, the general overseer of Living Faith Ministry, and Evergreen Apple, owned by Dr. Harold Demuren, the former director general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, are two of the hangars that will be demolished to make room for the new terminal’s apron in the coming weeks.

The minister asserted that nothing can halt the development.

Just two weeks prior, at the Stakeholders Forum, he reiterated plans to demolish the regional offices of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in order to make room for an Aeropolis that, according to unions, was never intended for the Lagos Airport.

The Minister criticized opponents who questioned the purpose of all the demolitions and planned demolitions while he was in Lagos over the weekend to commission new fire fighting vehicles.

He emphasized the need for the dismantling of the two facilities and claimed that since the terminal in Lagos became operational, it has not reached close to its full capacity.

He said: ”We are not operating Lagos airport at full capacity. We have some obstructions that will be removed within the next one or two weeks to expand the Apron so that Lagos will have full use 100%.

“Those two hangars I talked about , Dominion and Evergreen will have to go and give way for our airport to be more efficient. It is a $300million investment over there and they can’t sit there in public interest. We have to shift them, I don’t know them, of course I know Demuren, my leader but I don’t know the other guy, it has to go. You can’t deny Lagos and the country in general from using the airports.”

“We are going to demolish Dominion Hangar and Evergreen Apple Nigeria hangars to make way for the new Apron and that would be in a few weeks.”
