Billionaire Razak Okoya Goes Into Self-Isolation After Justice Oguntade’s Birthday Party In London

Billionaire businessman, Chief Razak Okoya, has gone into self-isolation after attending the 80th birthday party of former Supreme Court Justice, who is the current Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Justice Adesola George Oguntade, in London.

He was at the March 11, party accompanied with his wife, Shade and two of his children.

Chief Demola Seriki, a brother-in-law to the founder of  Eleganza Group of companies, Chief Razaq Okoya,  confirmed this to The PUNCH on Wednesday that the industrialist had gone into self-isolation.

Seriki, however, said Okoya tested negative for  COVID-19.

Seriki, who is a former Minister of State for Defence, said indeed Okoya attended the 80th birthday party of the Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Justice George Oguntade.

Seriki said, “It is true that Chief Okoya and many others attended the birthday anniversary of Justice Oguntade in London two weeks ago.

“Since the news emerged that two people who attended the party died of coronavirus, Chief Okoya has done a test and he was negative. He is, however, in self-isolation.”

The billionaire businessman and wife, Shade are very close family friends of the Oguntades. The two families don’t miss out on one another’s parties in Nigeria or abroad. Okoya, also threw a lavish party in January 2020 when he clocked 80 years.

In the same vein, Okoya’s wife, Shade cried out over rumours that some party guests were infected with the deadly virus.

In a statement sent online, she said,

Dear all; It has come to my attention that there are several false reports floating around on social media regarding H.E Adesola George Oguntade’s recent 80th birthday celebration held in London on the 10th March 2020.
My husband, myself and family members plus all our close friends were all in attendance and I can confirm that we are all well and fine after 16 days of attending.
To the best of my knowledge and findings, none of the guests in attendance have shown any signs or symptoms of the deadly Coronavirus as I text this today, the misinformation being circulated on social media lacks all credibility and its aim is for blackmail purpose only. This is simply fake news and I am using this platform to debunk it. I urge bloggers and social media influencers to use their platforms wisely in order not to spread panic or give wrong information to their followers.
Covid-19 is a global pandemic which is facing all nations at the moment, and during this time especially it’s important to promote kindness and positivity and wish well to everyone. I am overwhelmed by the love and concern shown by all who have called and messaged me and I pray and hope all will be back to normal soon. I urge that God will answer all prayers during this period and let this big phase in the history of the nation pass very soon. Amen.

Chief ( Dr ) Mrs. Shade Okoya.
