Beyonce’s Childhood Home Destroyed By Fire On Christmas Day

Beyonce’s childhood home has reportedly been destroyed by fire on Christmas Day.

The fire incident broke out at the home in Houston, Texas, on Monday, according to Daily Mail.

Firefighters responded to the incident and put out flames at the house reported to be the childhood home of the American singer and songwriter, Beyoncé Knowles, where she lived from birth to age five, Daily Mail reported.

The Houston Fire Department got the call around 2 am and arrived at the home at Rosedale Street to find the two-story home under heavy fire.

The firefighters reportedly arrived about three minutes after the initial call and the first arriving firetrucks got the bulk of the fire knocked down in the first 10 minutes.

They also had to cut into the roof to clear the attic and eaves of the fire.

The report added that the couple living in the home and their two young children escaped the fire in their pyjamas, and no one was injured.

The officials stated that the cause of the fire was still under investigation.

Constructed in 1946, Beyoncé’s family originally bought the charming brick house back in 1981 and paid $64,000 (£50.4k).

They moved out a few years later, shortly before Beyoncé’s younger sister Solange, now 37, was born, and when Beyoncé was five.

In 2018, the house went on the market for $500,000 (£352k) and fans were able to take a glimpse inside the walls where their favourite star grew up.

The house was last up for sale in 2019 and, in 2022, a buyer also bought the 8,640-square-foot lot next to it for $310,000 (£244k).

It boasts three bedrooms and three bathrooms, airy living spaces, and an office space on the third floor which can be reached via a spiral staircase.
