Glamtush reports that Beyoncé signaled her support for Vice President Kamala Harris by granting permission for one of her songs to be used during the presumptive Democratic nominee’s presidential campaign.
Harris’ team contacted Beyoncé’s representatives on Monday to seek approval for the Vice President to walk out to “Freedom” featuring Kendrick Lamar from the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer’s blockbuster 2016 album, “Lemonade,” during her first official visit to her campaign’s headquarters, a source told CNN.
Beyoncé, who is known for maintaining strict clearance guidelines around her music, gave a quick approval to Harris’ campaign when they sought permission to use “Freedom” on Monday – just hours before she walked out to the song, the source added.
While Queen Bey, 42, has not formally endorsed Harris, 59, since President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race, granting her permission to use “Freedom” as a campaign song indicates that Harris has the superstar’s support.
Beyoncé was a vocal supporter of President Barack Obama during the 2012 election and sang the national anthem at his inauguration the following year.
Glamtush recalls that after Biden, 81, declared Sunday that he will not seek re-election, Harris secured the support of enough Democratic delegates to become her party’s nominee on Monday against Republican candidate Trump, 78.
Harris, who has not yet announced a running mate, already has received endorsements from Clinton, 76, and House Speaker emerita Nancy Pelosi, among others.
