Best Players In The NHL

Trying to determine the best players in the NHL can be a daunting task. You need to look at a number of factors in order to determine who is best.

This includes how many games they have played, how good they are in the playoffs, and how well they play in the regular season.

Connor McDavid

Connor McDavid is one of the best players in the nhl picks right now. He’s a young, talented hockey player who has the ability to break many of the same boundaries that Wayne Gretzky did in the 1980s.

McDavid was the top overall pick in the 2015 NHL draft by the Edmonton Oilers. He’s made a name for himself by setting the bar high, scoring the most goals in a single season since Steven Stamkos in 2011-12. He’s also been a threat on the power play. He’s also a skilled forward who plays at a different speed than most players.

McDavid is currently ranked as the best player in the NHL, and it’s easy to see why. He’s one of the best skaters in the game, and he leads in open-ice dekes. He also moves the puck through traffic at an incredible rate, and processes play at a rapid pace.

Jaromir Jagr

During his NHL career, Jaromir Jagr has become one of the best players in NHL history. With every game played, he climbs up various all time lists. He is a career leader in several major NHL regular season statistical categories, including even strength goals, shots on goal, and overtime goals. In the playoffs, he is also a leader.

Jagr is the sixth-best playoff points leader in NHL history. He has also been named to seven NHL first All-Star teams.

Jagr was born in Kladno, Czechoslovakia, on February 15, 1972. He was the fifth overall pick in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. He has played for a number of teams throughout his career, including the Pittsburgh Penguins, the New York Rangers, and the Washington Capitals.

Alex Ovechkin

Despite his age, Alex Ovechkin is still one of the best goal scorers in the NHL. With 766 goals, he’s third in NHL history, only trailing Wayne Gretzky (894 goals) and Gordie Howe (801 goals). He has a chance to break Gretzky’s record this year, but he’ll need 113 more goals to do it.

Alex Ovechkin has led the NHL in goals three straight seasons. He also led the league in points per game for three seasons. He’s also led the NHL in shots eleven times. He’s scored 50 goals in nine different seasons. He’s tied with Wayne Gretzky for the most 50-goal seasons in NHL history.

Nikita Kucherov

Despite a slow start to the season, Nikita Kucherov remains a force in the NHL. A player who has accumulated 88 points in 65 playoff games, Kucherov is the second-highest scoring player in the league over the last 15 months. He has been held off the scoresheet only once in 13 games.

In addition to being a force multiplier, Kucherov has also been an impressive playmaker when it matters. He has scored five more goals than any other player in the league over the last 15 months. And, as a member of the Lightning, he has helped lead the team to back-to-back Stanley Cup wins.

Lidstrom

Having played 20 seasons for the Detroit Red Wings, Nicklas Lidstrom is considered to be one of the best players in the NHL. He accumulated 878 assists and 264 goals in his career. He has also won four Stanley Cups. He was named to the NHL All-Star team twelve times. He is also a member of the IIHF’s Triple Gold club.

Lidstrom has a reputation for playing clean, defensive lines. He has not gotten into many fights and is not a big bruising defender. He prefers to steal pucks and create turnovers.

Lidstrom is known to be the best European player to play in the NHL. He also played in four Stanley Cup championships with the Red Wings. He is also known to have won seven Norris Trophies and the Conn Smythe Trophy.

Joe Sakic

During his 20 year career in the NHL, Joe Sakic scored over 700 goals, finished in the top five in NHL scoring and earned a ring as the league’s Most Valuable Player. He is now an Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations for the Colorado Avalanche. He was one of only two players to win the Stanley Cup, and he has won it twice.

The first NHL championship he won was with the Quebec Nordiques, which relocated to Denver as the Colorado Avalanche. He made his NHL debut on October 6, 1988. He played with the Avalanche for the next 13 seasons. After his playing career was over, he returned to the organization as an assistant coach for two years.
