Taking to his Instagram story, the singer made it known that all he was demanding from his Sophia Momodu was joint custody and not sole custody, as he went on to differentiate between the two for those criticising him.
He stated that joint custody means both parents have access to the child, while sole custody means only one parent will have access to the child.
He wrote via his Instagram story,
“Joint Custody – Both parents will have access to the child.
Sole Custody – Only a single parent will have access to the child”.
Glamtush recall that a few days before Davido’s traditional wedding to Chioma, Davido had filed a suit, seeking joint custody of his daughter, as he claimed Sophia was denying him access to her and extorting money from him.
Meanwhile, Sophia had responded to the suit, debunking his claims, as she revealed that Davido had never made any attempt to meet with Imade and had abandoned her because she refused to have s3x with him.
In their ongoing custody battle, Sophia had filed a 102-paragraph affidavit to oppose the singer seeking joint custody of their daughter, citing reasons such as the death of his son, Ifeanyi, his controversial lifestyle and his love for using their daughter to get back at her as reasons for opposing him.
Reacting to it, Davido noted how Sophia was constantly bringing up the death of his child at any point to remind them of the tragedy that haunts them every day of their lives. The singer noted how his daughter would grow up to know he fought for him.
Recall that things turned sour between Davido and Sophia after the singer publicly declared love for his now wife, Chioma Rowland, and reunited with her. This left Sophia infuriated. She later went on an extensive rant, accusing him of financially abusing her.
