Both Nollywood actress and United Nations ambassador, Omotola Jalade- Ekeinde and Nigeria’s king of comedy, Ali Baba will be honoured at the 2015 African Achievers Awards event set to take place in Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday, July 25.
Rex Idaminabo said the two celebrities are most qualified going by their outstanding contributions to the transformation of the entertainment industry in Nigeria and in Africa. Rex added that, ‘While Omotola’s zeal and consistency created the needed breakthrough for Nollywood to thrive; Ali Baba took the comedy business to a different level in the country. Both Omotola and Ali Baba created a path for others to follow. They showed other artists the desired paths, and today, entertainment has become one of the main industries in Nigeria and in Africa that pays more people than any other industry.’
