ALAT By Wema Launches Earn-As-You-Go Scheme, Urges Nigerians To Save More

ALAT By Wema is offering Nigerians an opportunity to make extra income for the holiday season.

Tagged “Earn-As-You-Go”, the scheme is an exclusive referral program that allows customers to earn N1,000 for each person they get to sign up to the ALAT digital banking platform.

Given the culture of a ‘side hustle’ for which most young Nigerians are known for, the Earn-As-You-Go scheme will serve as an extra source of income for many of the brand’s customers.

According to Olusegun Adeniyi, Chief Digital Officer, Wema Bank, the bank, in its usual culture, “is looking to support young Nigerians economically as we all continue to weather the consequences of the current recession. For us, it is also an opportunity to grow our portfolio while giving new customers the pleasure of enjoying refreshing digital banking with ALAT.”

To participate, current customers are to get economically active people to use their referral code to open ALAT accounts and upload a picture of a government-issued ID card, this is in addition to the availability of the whooping sum of N100,000  for participants at the end of the exercise.

Also, ALAT by Wema is urging young Nigerians to take control of their spending and save some of their income for rainy days.

In his words, Olusegun Adeniyi said “it is normal to hear young people complain that January is a rather long month, and this is due to having spent most of their money during Christmas festivities. With this campaign, we are asking them not to overspend but save something away that will be handy for starting the New Year.”

“We are not just asking them to save, top savers within the period will receive special gift packs from the ALAT team,” he added.

Customers can make use of any of the saving options available on ALAT, as well as, take advantage of the card control feature on the platform to keep tabs on their spending during the holidays.
