Alakija Donates N1bn To Support Fight Against Coronavirus

 

Nigerian industrialists, Modupe and Folorunsho Alakija have announced a donation of N1 billion to support the fight against coronavirus.

The donation was made through Famfa Oil Ltd, one of the leading indigenous exploration and production companies in Nigeria.

In a statement, the management of the oil company said the fund will be shared among major stakeholders on the frontline of the challenge.

It said the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Lagos state government will get N250 million each.

Medical workers on the frontline in Lagos and Abuja will get a donation of N100 million each.

African Center of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases will get a donation of N50 million, Ameyo Stella Adadevoh will get N5 million, while N245 million will be allocated to the supply of medical equipment to relevant organizations.
