Budding Afro and highlife artiste, Adegboyega Courage with the stage name Don Leo is set for the official launch of his album titled, Elevated, on Sunday, June 3.
The 15 track album launch which promises to be an evening of music, dance and comedy will take place at the Presken Hotel & Suites, Ikeja.
His sojourn into the music industry began in 2010 with his debut single, Ukwu Super. However, getting record labels to sign him has been daunting. But the first in a family of four children has kept his flicker of hope burning to see the birth of his official album launch.
Don Leo who likes to define himself as a natural entertainer, believes his music will not only serve as a dancehall edition, but will address the usual societal ills thereby inspiring his fans.
Recounting his past experiences, Don Leo says, “’it was difficult promoting my music on tv, radio, and social media because of a lack of funds. Record labels are not going to promote you if your music has not reached a certain level. But thank God we are doing better than yesterday.”
He stated that if he wasn’t into music, he will be pursuing a career in Nollywood as an actor.
Commenting on his album launch, Do Leo stressed that he looks forward to his official album unveiling as he assures fans of a new blend of afro pop and highlife music.
Don Leo has performed in high profile events like Nigeria Media Nite Out, City Peoples Awards, Global Excellence awards, AFRIMA, Classic Magazine Awards among many others.
He is a member of Cornel Entertainment Group which is helping to promote his music. Don Leo has worked with the likes of Missy Joe, Fynfaz, and Kingocaro.
Expected at the album launch include SP Ngozi Braide, Nollywood celebrities, entertainers, fashionistas and a host of others.
