African parents in the UK have been advised to inculcate in their children the culture of responsibility from early days.

This was given at the 2024 edition of the Africa Education Fest, held on February 3, 2024 at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, London-Kensington, United Kingdom.

The Africa Education Fest was initiated as an avenue to help African families in the UK provide quality parenting and education for their children regardless of their social economic status. The 2024 edition was designed for families to learn and network with experienced parents, professionals and experts who understand the business of raising children in the UK as Africans.

Some of the speakers at the event included: Elaine C Walker, founder, Everythings Education UK; Colin Bell, CEO, Council of British International Schools (COBIS); Yetty Williams, Parenting Coach; Ivie Okwuegbuna, Assistant Head Teacher & Special Educational Needs Professional; Mary McCauley, Care for the Family Certified Coach.

Others were: Yasir Patel, Principal Headteacher, St. Constantine International School, Tanzania; Korede Adedoyin, CEO, The Vemoye Foundation UK; Isaac Oladipupo, Founder, Afrilearn; Richard Grubb, Regional Lead for Africa & Europe, the UK’s Department for Business & Trade; Gbenga Ogunbode, CEO, TIEC Group and Tonye Oji, Certified Coach.
