AFCON Qualifier: Injured Omeruo Rules Self Out Of S’Leone clash
Leganes and Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has ruled himself out of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying games against Sierra Leone.
Reacting to a post on Twitter on Thursday, the 27-year-old confirmed he was injured and will be out for two weeks.
He tweeted, “I am out for two weeks and not less.”
It would be recalled that the defender limped in the 49th minute of Leganes’ 1-0 win over Mirandes on Sunday.
The Super Eagles will host the Leone Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin November 13, before flying to Freetown for the return leg at the Siaka Stevens Stadium four days later.
