Glamtush reports that Super Eagles interim manager, Austin Eguavoen, has revealed that he will make a final decision today on whether to start striker Victor Osimhen against the Republic of Benin in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The crucial match is set for Saturday evening at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Osimhen, the last player to join the Super Eagles camp, faced uncertainty over his club future after failing to secure a move away from Napoli during the summer transfer window. He eventually joined Turkish side Galatasaray on loan on Thursday before arriving in Uyo to link up with the national team.
Addressing Osimhen’s potential inclusion in the starting lineup, Eguavoen stated at a pre-match press conference, “With 23 players at our disposal, I’ll need to carefully consider my options and decide who will take the field tomorrow.”
