Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday evening defeated Burundi 1-0, claiming their first three points at the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations championship in Alexandria.

Odion Ighalo scored in the 77th minute giving Nigeria a win over Burundi.

The win has moved Nigeria to the summit of Group B with three points after their opening game.

Following their 1-0 win in a keenly contested Africa Cup of Nations opening clash, coach Gernot Rohr disclosed that Burundi was a very difficult opponent for Nigeria.

The victory earned the Super Eagles massive praise from fans, but Rohr said he is looking forward to another tough match when they meet Guinea on Wednesday.
