Adamu Hands Over To Acting IGP Usman Alkali Baba
Outgoing Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu has handed over to Usman Alkali Baba the new acting Inspector General of Police.
Adamu handed over to the acting IGP on Wednesday at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
President Muhammadu Buhari had on Tuesday terminated the three months extension granted Adamu to remain in office, by announcing Baba as acting IGP.
Adamu was Imo State when he heard that he had been removed as the IGP.
Earlier on Wednesday, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo decorated Baba with the IGP position at the State House, Abuja
The Acting IGP replaced Mohammed Adamu whose tenure ended in February but had his tenure extended by Buhari for three months.
Recall that Baba’s appointment was announced by the Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, when he addressed State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa.
