Actress Vida Modelo Opens Anti-Human Trafficking Office In Asaba

Nollywood diva and media fashionista, Vida Modelo, has opened an office, La Vida Foundation, in Asaba, Delta State to vigorously pursue her passion for fighting against human trafficking and child abuse concerns within the State and beyond.

The exotically furnished office at DBS Road Asaba is to serve multi-purpose business concerns including event planning, media, and photographic coverages, consultancy; but most importantly as an office to handle human trafficking cases.

According to the glamorous movie lady, “My passion is to help the Government fight against human trafficking. The story of human trafficking is better understood when told by a victim. I was a victim.

“I have seen hell and it was God alone who saw me through the travails when I was trafficked to Spain. I’m alive today and back in my country because God’s mercy prevailed. There is no trick anybody can play where I am now in terms of how girls are deceived and trafficked, the horrors on the high sea, the servitude in slave camps and the molestations by foreign animals in human form, doing everything possible to debase and dehumanize their victim.

“It’s a horrible experience when one is trafficked. That is why I am dedicating the rest of my life to fighting this menace and poverty inclined suicide mission. I appreciate everyone who has made this dream to happen, I will not disappoint,” she posited.

Vida Modelo was a member of the Media Think Tank that worked for Governor Okowa’s reelection, and so members of the group were present to felicitate with one of their own. The leader of the group, Mr. Pius Mordi, now SA to Governor Okowa, led the following members: Comrade Felix Ofou (Chairman, Board of DBS Asaba), Comrade Norbert Chiazor (SA Media to Governor Okowa), Prince Obaro Unuafe (SSA to Governor Okowa), Mr. Fred Akpewe and Comrade Patrick Ochei (Member, Delta State Child Rights Implementation Committee) to celebrate with one of their own, Vida Modelo.

Mr. Mordi described Vida Modelo as a die-hard optimistic, stating that she had always spoken of her dream and now she had made it happen through her belief and determination. He encouraged her to continue to keep faith with her passion, maintaining that in no distant time she would break even and become one of the world’s most sought after anti-human trafficking activists. Early, the spiritual father of Vida Modelo, Rev. Fr. David Mario Dibie had prayed, consecrated and unveiled the office to the glory of God.

The address is Suite 14 Royalty Plaza 216 DBS Road, Opposite Former Deputy Governor’s Office Asaba. Oshimili South L.G.A. Delta State.
