Glamtush reports that a fresh graduate of the Department of Philosophy, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Gbenga Moses, has reportedly been found dead inside his room.
This online platform understands that Moses, who graduated from the institution in January 2023, was said to be waiting for the National Youths Service Corp call-up letter before the incident occurred on Sunday.
According to a source, among the students of the university, the deceased popularly known as Pablo was living outside the campus where the incident took place.
The source said the deceased complained about the food he and his girlfriend ate earlier at a restaurant but after they received treatment at a hospital, they returned to their house but the deceased was found dead inside his room on Sunday morning.
The source said, “Gbenga and his girlfriend went to eat at a restaurant in the town and he later complained about stomach ache but they both went to the hospital and later returned home after they were treated.
“But it was surprising that on Sunday morning, he did not come out of his room, on Sunday morning at about 11, he didn’t also pick up his call. So the curious neighbours had to break his door and found him dead.”
The source added because the deceased had earlier complained of stomach pain after eating the food raised suspicion that he died of food poisoning.
Reacting to the ugly incident, the Dean of Student Affairs, of the school, Prof. Olusegun Akanbi, confirmed the incident and said the graduate died early morning on Sunday.
He said, “The Head of the Department of Philosophy just called me and it was discovered that he ( deceased) passed on Sunday and his parents had already come.”
Also reacting, the Head of Media and Protocols of the AAUA, Mr Victor Akinpelumi, said the institution has set up an investigative panel to look into the matter.
The state police command’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami said the command had begun an investigation into the matter.
