Spotify And FC Barcelona Tap Travis Scott For El Clásico Takeover

Spotify and FC Barcelona are back with their sixth jersey takeover, and this one spotlights the world of Travis Scott.

 

For El Clásico on May 11, FC Barcelona players will wear a version of the iconic blaugrana jersey featuring the Cactus Jack logo, a first-of-its-kind moment created in partnership with one of the most influential artists of our generation.

Travis is the latest artist to be featured on the iconic FC Barcelona jersey with Spotify, following previous shirt takeovers with Coldplay, KAROL G, The Rolling Stones, ROSALÍA, and Drake. This edition with Travis goes even deeper: a co-created moment that bridges music, fashion, and football.

Spotify continues to make the bold decision to remove its own logo and hand over the front of the jersey, giving artists a unique platform to express their creativity on a global stage. Reflecting the depth of Spotify’s commitment to artists and fans, Spotify is bringing Travis Scott to perform in Barcelona for the very first time, marking a major milestone in both his career and the Spotify x FC Barcelona partnership.

Curated to honour Travis’s biggest local listeners, his most loyal fans in the city will be rewarded with an exclusive invite-only concert. Featuring fan-led moments and immersive activations from start to finish, this one-off event is designed to reflect the passion of the fans and the unmistakable energy that Travis brings to this partnership. The performance will take place the evening before El Clásico on May 10th at an iconic venue in the heart of the city, transforming a landmark location into a stage delivering an unforgettable experience for fans.

Marc Hazan, Vice President, Partnerships and Marketing, Spotify said, “What we’re doing here is giving artists a stage unlike any other. This collaboration with Travis Scott, alongside FC Barcelona, is our most ambitious project to date. A global icon co-curating with us for the world’s biggest game and performing live for fans in Barcelona – that’s the power we’re unlocking. It’s a real expression of what drives Spotify and FC Barcelona.”

In addition to the jersey, Spotify and FC Barcelona have also co-created a capsule collection with Travis Scott. The limited-edition Cactus Jack collection brings Travis Scott’s creative universe to life. Designed to live beyond the pitch, the drop includes exclusive apparel and accessories that channel the energy of El Clásico while staying rooted in Cactus Jack’s signature aesthetic.

Travis Scott said, “El Clásico is a moment the whole world taps into. Teaming up with Spotify and FC Barcelona lets me merge my universe with theirs. This wasn’t just about throwing Cactus Jack on a jersey. It’s about building something that blurs the line between sound and sport. Being the first artist to perform in Barcelona as part of this collaboration and sharing that moment with my fans just takes it to another level.”

FC Barcelona player Jules Kounde said, “As a long-time Travis listener and someone who cares about style, this collaboration with Spotify is powerful. Seeing the Cactus Jack logo on our jersey and being part of a drop that blends football with fashion and music is something that I’m hugely inspired by, and I’m proud to be part of a club that embraces that.”

Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, said, “The logo swap for El Clásico is the clearest example of how the alliance between Spotify and FC Barcelona is capable of generating conversations that go beyond the world of sports. It reflects the Club’s desire to interact with our fans in a novel way and brings us closer to new audiences around the world, allowing us to share who we are and what we stand for. In this Clásico, which could be decisive for the season, we welcome a global figure like Travis Scott to the family of artists who have had their names featured on our jersey in one of the most important sporting events on the planet.”

Travis Scott is one of the most streamed artists on Spotify and has over 67 million monthly listeners and over 44 billion streams, including five songs in the Billions Club (goosebumps, Sicko Mode, Highest In The Room, Butterfly Effect, FE!N). FC Barcelona will also share a special edition of the popular Barça Matchday playlist on Spotify featuring themed songs to motivate the players and fans in the build-up to the game, which was curated by Travis Scott.

Inspired by the club’s founding year, there will be 1899 limited edition jerseys available to purchase via the Barça Official Stores in Spain and online from 10 am CEST on May 2.

The Cactus Jack collection will include two variants of hoodies, t-shirts, retro jerseys, caps, shorts, jackets, scarves, and a retro football. The limited edition collection can be purchased via TravisScott.com from May 9.

The iconic Cactus Jack logo of Travis Scott’s record label and brand will feature on the FC Barcelona jersey, which will be worn for the El Clásico match against Real Madrid on May 11th. FC Barcelona Femení will be wearing the jersey in their last Liga F match of the season on May 18th.
