The first Portuguese series, Cacau, is set to premiere on Telemundo Africa.
A Portuguese telenovela, Cacau, premieres on Telemundo on Monday, May 26, at 22h00, after The Count: Love and Honor ends.
The series, produced by Plural Entertainment for TVI, premiered on January 15, 2023. It consists of a total of 236 episodes.
Cacau Synopsis
The story centers around 22-year-old Cacau, who lives with her Portuguese parents on a cocoa farm in Itacaré, Brazil. She makes chocolate in exotic flavours. She dreams of becoming a chocolatier but her life takes an unexpected turn when her father reveals a secret – her father isn’t her biological father.

The life of Cacau, a fearless and intrepid 22-year-old who lives with her Portuguese parents, Joaquim and Filomena who work as stewards for Justino Vaz Pereira on a cocoa plantation in Itacaré, Brazil, takes a tumultuous turn when her father unveils a long-held secret – Cacau is the daughter of the plantation owner Justino with another woman, Chiquinha. And she’s his heir.
This revelation sparks a series of intrigues and conflicts that threaten the family’s legacy and Cacau’s future. But she isn’t alone because Tiago loves her.
Meanwhile, a car accident involving Justino and his wife, Simone, prompts Tiago to uncover a scheme to harm Cacau, compelling him to intervene to safeguard her.
As Cacau embarks on a love story with Tiago and is challenged to assist him in locating Justino’s lost daughter, a hired assassin threatens her life at the behest of Sal and Rui.
