Glamtush reports that journalists from across the African continent have elected Abdallah el-Kurebe, the Registrar of the Society of Digital Newspaper Owners of Nigeria (SDNON), as the new President of the Pan African Agricultural Journalists (PAAJ).
El-Kurebe emerged unopposed in the election, a testament to the widespread confidence in his leadership and extensive experience in agricultural reporting. The election results, announced on Tuesday by PAAJ Electoral Committee Chairman Dawda Bayo, saw the formation of a diverse executive team representing multiple African nations.

Vice President: Jean Baptiste Musabyimana (Democratic Republic of Congo)
Secretary-General: Pojoley Essonana (Togo)
Treasurer: Beene Mujala (Zambia)

El-Kurebe’s journey to the presidency is marked by significant contributions to African journalism. He previously served as PAAJ’s Vice President from 2022 to 2024 and stepped in as Acting President from October 2024 to February 2025 following the resignation of his predecessor, Jefferson Massah.
