Iluyomade has been removed as the pastor of the flamboyant RCCG City of David parish.
Glamtush reports that Pastor Idowu Iluyomade of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) City of David Parish, Region 20, Victoria Island, Lagos, has been transferred, and Pastor Kayode Pitan has taken over as pastor.
This online news platform understands that he has been transfered to the RCCG Throne of Grace in Ebute Metta, Lagos, which serves as the mission’s headquarters.
This transfer was officially confirmed on Sunday, June 2, at the monthly thanksgiving service held in all RCCG branches worldwide.
According to sources, Pastor Iluyomade is dissatisfied with the transfer, citing his extensive efforts in building the Trinity Towers, a project valued at over 10 billion Naira that is still owed to Access Bank.
Furthermore, Iluyomade, who is 65 years old, reportedly expressed dissatisfaction that he has not yet reached the retirement age of 70.
Rumours suggested that his wife, Siju Iluyomade, celebrating her 60th birthday shortly after the death of former Access Bank Managing Director Mr. Herbert Wigwe, his wife and son may have influenced the decision.
Wigwe was said to have played a prominent role in raising funds for the City of David’s new complex, the Trinity Towers.
