Attempt to blackmail OSSAP-SDGS has hit the bricks as Police drags writer to court.
Glamtush reports that the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals has described recent allegations by a media organization concerning a contract award as mischievous, malicious and frivolous; all in a bid to get traffic to their website and earn advertisement revenue.
OSSAP-SDGS says it is aware of attempt by some disgruntled element being used within the media space to blackmail the good name of the office but it remain focus in people oriented programmes.
The office of SSA SDG confirmed that it reported the matter to the authorities so that the writer can have his day in court.
The office of the SSA SDG Maintains that the journalist should provide proof of the allegation in court where proofs are tendered and checked and not soil the hard earned reputation of the ministry, it’s official and projects, all in a bid to generate traffic to their website and advertisement revenue for it’s website.
The statement by OSSAP-SDGS reads below; “We take the accusations with the seriousness they deserve and set the record straight as follows.
“Recently, news circulated on social media stating that the office awarded N141.1 million to a restaurant in Abuja a few weeks before the expiration of the Buhari regime. We vehemently reject the claims. Indeed, the statements are not only misleading but malicious. They attempt to soil our office’s unwavering integrity.
“The information in the publications is false from the onset. The intentions behind the assertions are malicious individuals trying to ruin the image of the high office. OSSAP-SDGs has been transparent in its operations and project implementation processes, including supporting the construction of the Skills Acquisition Centre and a Block of Classrooms in Lagos State and many similar projects across the country. Therefore, the assertion that our project was sponsored by a restaurant is false and baseless.
“Our projects are done by professionals in the field of construction and engineering, where such professionals are contracted competitively, following the set rules and standards. Therefore, the statement purporting that our project was being done within a restaurant is malicious and should be ignored completely. Moreover, the project was never redirected from Ajeromi; it was only relocated for logistical reasons to facilitate completion in stipulated times. The fact that the facility has been completed and commissioned confirms efficient and successful service to people. The statement is also untrue because our procurement department follows every procurement law.
“Therefore, the allegations are baseless. We assure the concerned parties that the monies used in the project were appropriately utilized. We are working tirelessly to achieve more goals and urge the general public to ignore the allegations and continue working closely.”
