The Kogi State Government has declared Thursday, December 29, 2022, as a public holiday as the State would receive President Muhammadu Buhari on that day for the commissioning of projects embarked upon by Governor Yahaya Bello. The Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress on Sunday clashed over allegations by the Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese, Matthew Hassan Kukah, that President Muhammadu Buhari failed to fulfil his 2015 electoral promises. While the PDP backed the cleric, saying his assessment of Buhari’s regime was on point, the APC berated the Christian leader’s statement as ungodly and biased.

5. A businessman, Dapo Olofinmakin, has accused his mother, Olufunmilayo, of exhuming the corpse of his late father, Segun, in a bid to sell his property on Sanya Street in the Aguda area of Lagos State, where he was buried. It was gathered that Dapo, 47, had opposed the plan by his mother to move the body to another location to facilitate the sale of the building.
