Being single on Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean you can’t have fun you know.
Well, just because you’re single doesn’t mean you have to feel left out of the Valentine Day’s celebrations as there are some unique ways you can celebrate and make the most out of the day.
Check out some ideas of how to turn it up on Valentine’s Day when you are single and have fun loads of fun.
Tell yourself it’s just another day
Tell yourself that Valentine’s Day is just another day of the year so that you don’t feel bad that you’re still single. Having this at the back of your mind will help to remind you that V-Day’s is just another 24 hours that will come and go. So keep a smiling and happy face. Engage in things that will keep you occupied but happy.
Dress to make yourself feel good
It is Valentine’s Day after all so wear something that will make you feel good, sexy, turn heads and ultimately make you receive compliments from admirers. You could opt for red or other colours to turn it up a notch. Just feel good about you!
Enjoy being single
You may be single but remember that there are many upsides to being single. So, do whatever you want to do on Valentine’s Day that makes you happy. Love yourself, enjoy and concentrate on the freedom and independence that comes with being single.
Watch movies
Look for movies that will make you laugh and watch. It can be a classic romantic comedy. But avoid watching romantic movies and listening to love songs that will remind you that you’re single and make you sad or depressed.
Take yourself out to dinner
It’s not a crime to take yourself out to dinner at a good and affordable restaurant. Eat good food and top it with a glass of wine and make yourself happy.
Give yourself a treat
If there is something that you want or desire that will make you happy, go ahead and get it or do it for yourself. You could shop for something you have been saving for like a dress, write a journal, watch your favourite movie or since it’s a weekend, take a weekend trip to somewhere you have always wanted to visit or visit a friend you have not seen in a while and reconnect.
Plan a night out with your single besties
You can call up two or three of your single besties and plan an evening or night out as a group. Being in the company of others in the same situation will help to ease your loneliness. You all can go to the cinema to watch movies, attend a show or even go to the club to dance the night away and then have a sleepover. It’s a good thing that Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday.
Hang out with loved ones
Just because you’re not dating right now doesn’t mean you don’t have people in your life who truly care about you. You can spend time with family and close friends after work hours. You could go out for dinner, go to the club and have some fun, cook together and eat, play games or even stay in and relax.
Cook yourself a Valentine Day delicacy
If you don’t want to take yourself out to dinner, then, you can cook yourself a special Valentine’s Day food at home. Cook that food you have been craving or experiment with totally new food. There are a number of food channels on YouTube that can be of help.
Love yourself and do whatever makes you happy on Valentine’s Day as you remind yourself that you are lovable and worthy of love.
