56-Year-Old Man Dies From COVID-19 Complications
The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, has announced the death of a 56-year-old Nigerian man due to COVID-19 related complications.
According to the Commissioner who via his Twitter handle on Tuesday, April 14, the deceased recently returned to the country from the US.
He wrote: “A 56-year-old Nigerian; male who recently returned from the United States has died of #COVID19 related complication. This brings the total number of #COVID19 related deaths in Lagos to 6.”
While acknowledging the new cases and newly discharged persons, Abayomi said: ”13 new cases of #COVID19 infection confirmed.
While urging residents in the state to obey social distancing directive, he said, “I urge Lagos residents to remain on alert across communities and obey instructions aimed at containing the spread of #COVID-19 infection.”
