A commercial bus has somersaulted along the Lagos-Ibadan highway, Ogun State, killing four passengers on the spot – two men and two women.
According to Daily Post, 14 other passengers sustained injuries in the accident that occurred around Lufwape at about 3:40 pm on Sunday
The road crash involved 20 persons, comprising 12 male adults and eight female adults.
It was learnt that the Mazda bus, with no registration number somersaulted and collided with a Mack truck driver.
The truck driver had “suddenly crossed in front of the Mazda bus, which suddenly lost control due to speed and it crashed; but unfortunately, the truck escaped,” the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said.
The spokesperson of the FRSC in Ogun, Florence Okpe, disclosed that the injured victims were taken to Idera Hospital, Sagamu for treatment, adding that bodies of the dead victims were deposited at the hospital’s morgue.
The FRSC warned drivers to desist from excessive speeding, saying “life has no duplicate.”
