A House of Representatives aspirant for the Ndokwa /Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections, Chief Ugo Nwokolo has said that he is going to the Green Chambers of the National Assembly to give his people a better deal.
Speaking to newsmen in Ashaka, Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State, after a consultative visit to PDP local government area executives and some leaders of the party in the area, Chief Nwokolo (aka Overdo) said that he joined the House of Representatives race to ameliorate the plight of his people.
Nwokolo who is the chairman of Habitat Group promised to give meaningful representation to the Ndokwa /Ukwuani Federal Constituency, if elected in 2023, adding that he would attract the attention of the Federal Government to the Constituency if given the opportunity to serve in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly.
“I just had a fruitful consultative visit in this area and I want to tell my people in the Ndokwa/ Ukwuani Federal Constituency that I have what it takes to go the House of Representatives to serve them. I know the plight of my people and I will do the needful for them if given the opportunity to represent them. Our people are not feeling the presence of the Federal Government and it is my desire to bring their plight to the front burner,” he stated.
While decrying the neglect of the area over the years by the Federal Government, the House of Representatives aspirant said that he would encourage the government to tackle the issue of the annual flooding in the constituency when elected, just as he said that he is very familiar with the terrain and that he joined the race to address the challenges confronting the people of the constituency.
In his word, “The ravaging effects of the annual flood on our people and their sources of livelihood is really worrisome and this is far beyond the state government that has done so much for our people. There is a need for quality roads in this federal constituency and our people should be able to feel the presence of the Federal government in all areas and as a man on a rescue mission with a clear vision for my people, I will make sure that they get a fair deal if I am elected as their representative.”
“I am very competent, courageous, committed, enlightened, educated, and exposed to champion the Ndokwa development agenda which is topmost on my priority checklist. I am not going to the House of Representatives to warm up the seat, but going there to give a voice to my voiceless people,” he concluded.
