2021 American Music Awards Winners, full list can be accessed below.
The BTS army was out in full swing during the 2021 AMAs, which aimed to award the best of American music on Sunday night as voted on by the fans.
A trio of artists tied for the most wins of the night with three each – BTS took home Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop Duo or Group and Favorite Pop Song for “Butter”; Megan Thee Stallion won Favorite Trending Song, Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Hip-Hop Album for “Good News”; and Doja Cat won Collaboration of the Year for “Kiss Me More” with SZA, Favorite Female Pop Artist and Favorite Female R&B Artist.
Nominees for the AMAs were based on key fan interactions – as reflected on the Billboard charts – including streaming, album sales, song sales and radio airplay. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partner MRC Data, and cover the time period Sept. 25, 2020, through Sept. 23, 2021. The American Music Awards winners are voted entirely by fans.
Olivia Rodrigo, who led with seven nominations in total, came away with only one win for New Artist of the Year, while Taylor Swift won two awards: Favorite Female Pop Artist and Favorite Pop Album for “evermore.”
The Weeknd, who scored six nominations in total, ended up with zero wins.
