2019 Elections: Soldier killed Barely Two Months To His Wedding In Rivers State

 

A Nigerian soldier identified as Lieutenant Luka Ishaya Kurmi, was killed yesterday in Abonnema, Rivers state, barely two months to his wedding.

According to the Nigerian Army, Kurmi was killed during a face off between troops of 6 Division and some political thugs who barricaded a major road in Abonnema.

The gallant troops fought their way through the siege and in the process killed six of the assailants. However, Kurm was killed.

Preliminary investigation indicated that one Roland Sekibo, the Chairman Akuku Toru LGA, Omodo – the CSO Akuku Toru LGA and Kenneth of Kula, currently at large, were the masterminds of the attack.

Late Kurm according to the wedding notification was set to wed his fiancée, Alheri Ganya Bissa, on Saturday, April 20 in Kebbi State.
