Glamtush reports that Shatu Garko, the 18-year-old hijab model from Kano State has been crowned Miss Nigeria 2021.
She was crowned as the 44th queen of the competition during the coronation ceremony on Friday night at the Landmark Centre in Lagos.
She becomes the first Hijab-wearing winner since the contest began in 1957.
Garko, a horse-riding lover, represented the North West region of Nigeria during the pageant.
Despite being the youngest contestant, Garko beat 17 other finalists to become the first hijab-wearing model to wear the Miss Nigeria crown.
