It may not seem like it, right now, but something good may well come out of the pain you are suffering today. Life has a habit of turning things around; what may seem as a door slamming in your face, will most likely lead to another one opening tomorrow.
2. Problems don’t last forever
Always remember that when it rains, the rain has to stop. That’s what makes life so interesting: the changing weather, the changing seasons, your changing fortunes. There is no such problem that can last forever, so when everything goes wrong, take a deep breath and say to yourself that this too shall pass.
3. You can handle this
You may well feel hurt or disappointed, but you’ve handled tough situations before and you will handle this one too. You are stronger than you think, so never forget that you are more than capable of dealing with your problems, even when everything seems to be going wrong.
4. Don’t forget that some things are going right!
When everything goes wrong, it’s easy to forget the things that are not. Remember that it’s not all bad news, it just seems that way. If you take a closer look, you will find that some things are trundling along just fine.
5. Accept that you can’t control everything
There are some things that you simply can’t control and you will never be able to control what other people do and say. There’d be no point in worrying about the things you can’t control, because it will only frustrate you and wear you out. Accept these things and you will find it easier to deal with them.
6. Ask for help, if you need it
It can be tough to ask for help but sometimes it’s the only way that you will get through tricky situations. There’s no shame in needing help, so when everything goes wrong, don’t be afraid to ask for support, even when all you need is a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to.
7. Remember that you have got through tough times before
Another thing to try and remember when things seem to be going wrong is that you have probably been through tough situations before. You handled those, so you will be able to handle this one too.
8. You never lose control completely
You should also remember that, while there are some things that you can’t control, you always have choices. That means that, even when everything goes wrong, there is always something that you can do to improve your situation, even if you can’t fix everything.
9. Don’t forget to look after yourself
While all this is going on, don’t forget to take care of yourself. Both your physical and your mental well-being are of the utmost importance, so make sure you are eating properly and getting enough sleep. You won’t be able to solve anything, if you are laid up in bed sick.
10. These things do pass
The final thing to remember is that whatever your circumstances are right now, things will change and things will pass. However bad you may feel and, even if it does feel that nothing is going your way, give it some time and things will get better eventually.
